Royal Ballet & Opera: Woolf Works

Sunday 15 February

Resident Choreographer, Wayne McGregor brings together an extraordinary creative team to celebrate the imaginative world of Virginia Woolf. Instead of telling a traditional story, the ballet captures the emotional depth and inner lives found in Woolf’s writing, using movement, music and light to create something truly atmospheric.

26 February

The Audience is well worth adding to your diary. After more than ten years, Helen Mirren returns to the role that won her both Olivier and Tony Awards, playing Queen Elizabeth II in this acclaimed production directed by Stephen Daldry. The play explores the Queen’s weekly private meetings with her prime ministers, a tradition that spanned 60 years and twelve governments. This the original stage version, filmed live in London’s West End in 2013 and still one of the most-watched NT Live broadcasts.

Talk: Teenagers and Sleep, a practical guide for parents

Dr Maja Schaedel will explain why sleep is such a common struggle for children and teenagers, from physiological changes to the impact of anxiety, ADHD, and autism. She will explore the reasons why so many young people struggle with sleep, highlighting the physiological and hormonal changes that can affect their ability to rest, and will also discuss how adults can support children and teenagers in developing healthier sleep habits. This fresh, four‑star production brings the classic tragedy to life with real intensity, starring an exceptional cast including David Harewood OBE (Homeland), Toby Jones OBE (Mr Bates vs the Post Office), Caitlin FitzGerald (Succession), Vinette Robinson (Boiling Point) and Luke Treadaway (A Street Cat Named Bob). Filmed live at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in London especially for cinema audiences, critics have called it “electrifying” and “star‑studded”.

Royal Ballet & Opera: Giselle

8 March

Peter Wright’s 1985 production of this quintessential Romantic ballet is a classic of The Royal Ballet repertory. Set to Adolphe Adam’s evocative score and with atmospheric designs by John Macfarlane, Giselle conjures up the earthly and otherworldly realms in a tale of love, betrayal and redemption.

Talk: Comfort in Discomfort, talking about racism

19 March

Navigating conversations about race in today’s increasingly divisive climate especially for young people – has never been more critical, nor more challenging. Black History Month provides a safe, constructive, and often overlooked opportunity to do so. Nnenne Iwuji highlights the value of Black History Month and aims to inform and empower healthy conversations in this space, for parents and children regardless of race. Drinks served from 6.30pm.

Royal Ballet & Opera: The Magic Flute

26 April

Mozart’s fantastical opera glitters in David McVicar’s enchanting production. A star cast including Julia Bullock as Pamina, Amitai Pati as Tamino, Huw Montague Rendall as Papageno, Kathryn Lewek as the Queen of the Night, and Soloman Howard as Sarastro, led by French conductor Marie Jacquot in her Covent Garden debut.

Royal Ballet & Opera: Eugene Onegin

8 May

After a stunning 2024 debut at the Met in Madama Butterfly, soprano Asmik Grigorian returns in another standout role, this time as Tatiana, the heartfelt young heroine of Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin. Her portrayal captures all the intensity and vulnerability of a young woman navigating first love. Directed by Tony Award–winner Deborah Warner, the Met’s atmospheric production has been widely praised, with The Telegraph celebrating it as “a beautifully detailed reading of Tchaikovsky’s lyrical romance.”

Talk: The incredible teenage brain, unlock your teen’s potential

The teenage years can be an exciting time of growth, independence and possibility but they can also feel challenging, both for young people and the adults supporting them.

Dr Bettina Hohnen will guide parents through the fascinating science of the teenage brain, explaining why adolescents think and behave as they do, and offering practical advice for communicating with teens in ways that protect and build self-esteem.
