Samaritans opened in Sevenoaks in 2020 and we now have more than 100 local volunteers, taking calls from across the UK. We are always looking for people to join us to become listening volunteers. You’ll be part of an amazing group of people, make new friendships, and we’ll train, mentor and support you all the way.
Being a Samaritan will teach you valuable new skills that will stay with you for the rest of your life. You’ll gain confidence and become a better listener, in your home life and in the workplace. For those planning to return to work in the future, skills gained as a Samaritan can add to your CV. Last but not least, you’ll have the incredible satisfaction of knowing you’re helping people who are in despair.
If you don’t feel that a listening role is right for you, we’re also looking for people to join our growing team of volunteers to help with practical roles such as administration or fundraising.
