Follow the instructions below and decorate your pumpkins, race spiders, pin the nose on the pumpkin, bang the balloon and create an outdoor scavenger hunt from recycled Halloween decorations.
Banging Balloons
Fill balloons with tricks or treats; the tricks could be rolled up dares and the treats can be small sweets. Blow up the balloons and using a glue gun (with the help of a grown-up), fix the tied ends to a black board. Players can either use their body parts (no hands) to prick them pencils or wands!
Spider Race
Using rolled up paper to create your own paper straws, use a big tray or a dining table and set up a race track with a ‘start’ and ‘finish’ line. Give each player a plastic spider and get them to race them by blowing the spiders along the tray.
Decorated pumpkins
It wouldn’t be Halloween without the hollowed out pumpkins but if you’d rather paint your pumpkins then some of the smaller gourds are fantastic for this. Using acrylic paints you can also wash off anything that doesn’t go to plan!
Mummify your Daddy!
If you have plenty of toilet roll then this is the game for you! Take a willing ‘mummy’ or ‘daddy’ each, set the timer to 4 minutes and wrap them from head to toe – best mummy wins. You can play in pairs at home.
Scavenger Hunt
Set up a scavenger hunt inside the house with items the children have to locate, in a set time. You could dig out your old decorations and put them to good use.
Pin the nose on the pumpkin
A Halloween twist on ‘pin the tail on the donkey’, using a pumpkin template, print the pumpkin head out as large a you can get it, then cut several triangular noses and back with blu-tac, find a blindfold and pin the template on a board. Each player takes a turn – put the blindfold on your player, turn them several times, hand them the nose and away you go!
