Get arty: some quick and easy ideas to do at home

Forage in the garden or on a walk:

 Make a woody crown

Bend green willow into a circle to fit your head; continue weaving the ends around until they are completely woven in and the circle is quite secure.

Twist a length of ivy, clematis stem or raffia around the crown base and then decorate with seasonal natural materials.

Make a loom for wild weaving

Forked stick loom – tie raffia, string or wool to the base of a forked stick and wind it up ad round. Take the loom outside with you and find natural materials to weave through it.

Half image self-portrait print off a picture of yourself, cut it in half and then stick it to another plain piece of paper and then draw your interpretation of the other half.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Create your own crazy creature! Fold an A4 paper into 4 sections. In the top section, draw an animal head include as much detail as possible.

In section 2, draw the neck/torso

In 3rd panel, the lower body and the 4th panel, the legs and feet. Add any wings/arms etc to the drawing to complete the animal.

Underneath name the creature you have created!
