Description
Hello, my name is Penny – thank you for finding me here.
I am a BAPT-accredited Play Therapist based in Sevenoaks. As a mobile therapist, I can meet children at school or, in some cases, at home. I also offer sessions at RightMind in Bat & Ball on Mondays.
Children don’t always have the words to say how they feel. Play therapy offers them another way to express themselves — through toys, stories, and creativity.
Play therapy isn’t something you do; it’s a way of being. I wholeheartedly believe in its power and the positive, lasting impact it can have on children.
I work in a child-centred way, which means children are in charge of their sessions. They choose how to play and what to explore. My role isn’t to “fix” children, but to create a safe, contained space where they can express how they feel without judgement and begin to make sense of their world and experiences. Through my clinical work, I’ve seen that healing relationships don’t depend on words, but on connection — on creating a space where children are accepted exactly as they are.
I have experience working with non-speaking children and children with ASD, ADHD, and Down syndrome, as well as those affected by trauma, sexual abuse, terminal health conditions, and mental health difficulties.
If you’re wondering whether play therapy might be right for your child, I’d be happy to talk. You’re welcome to arrange a free consultation or get in touch with any questions — I’m here to help. 🏮
