St Michael’s Prep School is a non-selective, coeducational school for children aged 2-13 years promoting a rich, varied and balanced education within a Christian context. Year 7 (11+) is a point of entry at St Michael’s. Candidates for entry at Year 7 are invited to have a Taster Day at the school, during which they will be assessed in maths and English and observed as they participate in a full range of normal school lessons and activities. An offer of a place is made following a successful Taster Day.
Year 7 and 8 pupils have the opportunity to take on leadership roles, which help to prepare them for senior school life. They enjoy a number of residential trips, which build teamwork skills and friendship bonds that will last a lifetime.
The opportunity for pupils to flourish academically is naturally a priority at St Michael’s, but the curriculum is adapted to suit the needs of pupils of all abilities, including preparations for scholarships and participation in a variety of areas including sport, music, art and drama. St Michael’s also offers advice and guidance to parents and pupils about the senior schools which would best suit all of their needs.
St Michael’s has recently been highlighted by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) as providing strong pastoral care to all of its pupils.
