Walthamstow Hall is an independent school for girls aged 3 – 18 on separate Junior and Senior School sites in Sevenoaks, both within walking distance of the station.
Inspiring teaching, an extensive extra-curricular programme, exceptional facilities and a strong sense of community lie at the heart of nearly 180 years of success.
Our record of academic achievement is well-established. In 2016 70% of I/GCSEs and 60% A levels /Pre-Us were passed at A*/A and over 80% of leavers took up places at Russell Group universities. School Sport magazine ranked Walthamstow Hall 22nd best independent school for sport in the UK in 2016. We aspire, though, to much more than this, placing great value on each student’s happiness and personal development. Our students leave as accomplished, assured and dynamic young women ready to make the most of the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead of them in further education and the world beyond.
There is a very palpable sense of community at Walthamstow Hall. All students are well known, they have a fantastic rapport with their teachers, are genuinely supportive of each other, and opportunities to participate and succeed are open to all. The Sixth Form are highly visible and set the tone, younger students see them juggling extra-curricular activities and taking an enthusiastic, but down-to-earth, approach and follow in their footsteps.
Walthamstow Hall has a rolling programme of development, a new Sports Hall was opened in 2015 and a new, four storey, Sixth Form Centre will open this Autumn.
The Good Schools Guide’s describes Walthamstow Hall as a ‘Thriving girls’ day school in leafy Sevenoaks. Produces quietly confident young women with a ‘can do’ attitude and an adventurous spirit. The strong academic results are a ‘happy by-product’ of all of this’.
The Senior School Open Morning is on Saturday 23rd September, 10am – 12.15pm. Places can be booked at www.walthamstow-hall.co.uk
